While the anti-Zionist viewpoint is popular today in general due to the atrocities that Israel has committed in Gaza, I would take issue with the statement that anti-Zionism is "mainstream at Reddit". Until January 2, 2025, the WorldNews subreddit, the largest sub for world news, had an 'Israel at war' thread stickied to the top (here it is on Jan 1: https://web.archive.org/web/20250101005715/https://old.reddit.com/r/worldnews/). They also would ban anti-Zionist in the comments such as myself. Reddit founder Steve Hoffman is on the tech advisory board of the ADL (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Huffman). The ADL believes that anti-Zionism is anti-Semitism (https://www.adl.org/resources/article/anti-zionism-antisemitism-how-anti-zionist-language-left-and-right-vilifies-jews). There are strong currents, coming from the top-down, attempting to suppress anti-Zionist speech on Reddit. They are just failing to do so, again because of the atrocities Israel has committed.
The reason that Charles Murray runs into trouble is because he is an IQ-realist, not because he is a Zionist or a Jew. While it is regrettable that his free speech is not respected, his case is not relevant.
The Cooper Union link you shared provides no evidence that there was any violence at that particular protest. Only that Jewish students felt afraid and locked the door to the library. Indeed, the article provides a photo of the 'violent' mob, which is a bunch of young women holding signs, perhaps one man. This is a case of hysterical behavior on the part of Jewish students, shivering in fear at a group more suited to kumbayah circles than breaking windows. Despite this, they managed to get a Judge to shame the university and a lawsuit to proceed against it, for allowing this gathering of young women with signs. This case in fact shows extreme pro-Jewish bias on the part of the legal system.
The Pittsburgh case appears to be a real example of an antisemitic attack, but the attacker was a 50 year old man from the local community not a student. The article also mentions two assaults at the University of Michigan and another at University of Pittsburgh, but all of these were also "off-campus" and therefore had nothing to do with the student protestors.
The attack at Depaul you linked to appears to be on-campus, but the assault happened in November, while the student protests were broken up the previous May. Thus, you have not given me any evidence of violence on behalf of genuine pro-Palestine protestors.
This highlights the absurdity of Avi Friedman quitting Columbia because of 'anti-Israel' bias. The president of Columbia called in riot gear police to clear peaceful protestors and arrested over 100 students (https://mondoweiss.net/2024/05/nypd-clears-columbia-student-occupation-arrests-hundreds-across-the-city/), in an event that stood out across campuses across the USA. A Columbia task force has declared anti-Zionism to be antisemitism (https://archive.ph/gDgPz). That means if you think that Palestinians shouldn't be carpet bombed, Columbia thinks you are a Nazi. Columbia has banned the Students for Justice in Palestine and the Jewish Voice for Peace. Columbia, therefore, has a strong pro-Israel bias. Avi Friedman is just another hysteric who cannot handle criticism of Israel.
Regarding celebrating October 7th - this is not violent or illegal. It's legal to celebrate Hamas in the USA. Many peope interpret October 7th as a prison break. Columbia has fostered incredibly left-wing thinking for a long time, which celebrated violence against oppressors. Only when the oppressors became Jews did this become a problem.
You are seriously understating the amoung of violence that has been used against pro-Palestine protestors and against Muslims in general. The NBC article you linked to, in fact, lists a few: a Palestinian man was stabbed after attending a pro-Palestinian protest at the University; a Jewish driver struck a protestor with his car at an off-campus demonstration involving Columbia students. Many protestors have experience police brutality. This is more violence than any of the incidents you listed, and this is just at your link.
There are many more examples of violent incidents: in Vermont 3 Palestinian students were targeted and shot, one paralyzed from the chest down (https://www.npr.org/2023/12/03/1216852611/palestinian-student-shot-in-vermont-is-paralyzed-from-chest-down-his-family-says). On May 1, 2024 a group of 200+ Zionist thugs assaulted the UCLA encampment with fireworks and bats screaming 'second Nakba!' and a pro-Palestine protestor was smashed in the head with a metal baton https://www.informationliberation.com/?id=64427. Here's another New York Times article describing the violence: https://archive.ph/MQbLx. In another video a Zionist attacks protestors with a bat and gets beaten up: https://x.com/GozukaraFurkan/status/1882056586748969431. In Oslo on August 12, 2024 an enraged Zionist began grabbing and punching women https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/20240812-zionist-assaults-pro-palestine-protesters-in-oslo/. At an Ottawa protest, another Zionist man was filmed punching a woman https://video.twimg.com/ext_tw_video/1796893694148177920/pu/vid/avc1/720x940/YsF2McIMljUUHsmq.mp4. Another Zionist man punching a woman at a pro-Palestine protest https://x.com/Kahlissee/status/1848685367018340373. There seems to be a general pattern of Zionist men punching women. Many examples of lower-level conflict involving a completely silent protestor and a Zionist telling them that they're going to kill them, like this: https://x.com/IslamGreatQuran/status/1802285789029560825.
Many Zionists have engaged in aggressive lying to exaggerate or pretend they have been attacked when they have not. In October 2024 a French Zionist was videoed writhing on the ground pretending to be attacked when no one was touching him https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/20241008-french-zionist-fakes-attack-by-pro-palestinians/. Another was recorded cowering and pretending to be a victim when in no danger https://x.com/MintPressNews/status/1793261594492739726. Another was videotaped pretending to be poked by a flag https://x.com/propandco/status/1786244883331559688. At the UCLA protest a Zionist woman was caught having no injuries while being bandaged as if she had a severe head injury https://x.com/LensVeritatis/status/1784743257853055256. A woman in France who had reported several antisemitic attacks was discovered to have been faking them all herself https://www.lepoint.fr/societe/paris-une-femme-se-disant-victime-de-menaces-antisemites-aurait-tout-invente-25-01-2025-2580795_23.php#11. Another pro-Israel lawyer was caught faking an antisemitic attack in 2020 https://electronicintifada.net/blogs/asa-winstanley/pro-israel-lawyer-faked-graffiti-attack. So this is another pattern that needs to be considered when analyzing these news stories.
Thus I don't think you can say that I am 'factually wrong' when I say that violence is more common among the pro-Israel crowd. Additionally, despite there being more violence directed at Palestinian supporters in general, the entire political system has mobilized to protect Jews. Universities around the country have declared antizionism to be antisemitism. Congress passed a bill 320 to 91 denouncing 'antisemitism on college campuses' and equating antizionism with antisemitism https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2024/5/1/us-house-passes-controversial-bill-that-expands-definition-of-anti-semitism. President Trump has announced an antisemitism crackdown at the executive level. Despite the violence being directed against them, there is no mobilization to provide Palestinians and their supporters with government protection from bullying bias or violence, in any branch of government or university or employer. This should concern anyone who concerned with fairness, civil rights, justice, etc.
